Our guests are encouraged to experience as much of the ranch as possible by horseback. We own a large number of horse and can accommodate any riding level. You will be matched to a horse that meets your experience and riding ambition and provided with all the tack and equipment necessary. For your own safety we do require that you bring and use riding boots. Enjoy the many trails on the ranch and explore wonderful scenery and many natural surprises.
Our extensive training facilities, including an indoor riding arena, outdoor riding arena, outdoor round pens, stable, and dedicated horse pastures – are overseen by our resident horse trainer and allow us to keep up our training program all year long.
Lessons for roping, barrel racing, or just improving your recreational riding, are always available and included in our rate.
When there is cow work to be done, guests are welcome to “cowboy” the herd – riding with the wranglers to look over the herd, moving them as needed.
From cattle drives to branding and gathering, opportunities to experience the true western lifestyle are based on the cattle operations activities. Spring branding, checking newborns and giving inoculations, sorting and pairing are but a few of the daily activities.
The Mountain Cabin is used as a ‘rest stop’ for hikes, horseback rides, and ATV adventures by Ranch guests during the Spring and Summer.
This solar-powered, spring-water fed cabin, has most of the conveniences of home, and yet is several miles from electric service! The views of the canyon below and sunsets to the West are outstanding. The Mountain Cabin is a 45 minute drive from the Lodge on gravel roads. The elevation is nearly 3000′ higher and it is usually 10-15° cooler (and windier) than the lower Ranch.
A dinner at the Mountain Cabin, with steaks on the grill and sunset on the horizon, can be a real highlight and relaxing way to end a day of outdoor adventures.
The Mountain Cabin is not used by guests for overnight stays and has day use only during the Spring and Summer Seasons.
There are 20 ATV’s and Side-by-Sides (SBS's), including 2 Kiddy ATV’s. We provide instruction on ATV & SBS operation and safety. Each ATV has first-aid kit and storage, many have a winch. Guided tours are available and included or explore as a family on a variety of trails. The Ranch has approximately 100 miles of trails and almost all are open to ATV's, SBS's, Dirt Bikes, Mountain Bikes and hikers. Detail Red Reflet Ranch maps are provided in your Chalet and welcome basket.
You are invited! Scheduled in advance, our resident chef welcomes guests into the kitchen during prep for meals. The chef will demonstrate cooking techniques, and put you to work in helping to prepare the next meal.
There is a practice pond for the fly fishing, ranch ponds for pan fish, and outstanding trout fishing for the experienced fishermen on private streams on nearby private Ranches.
There is an additional cost for a local fishing guide and Red Reflet Ranch can provide a list of the local guides.
Attached to the pool area, you’ll have access to modern fitness machines to help you maintain your fitness regiment while on vacation.
There are many places to hike on and near the ranch, but our favorite is a small, private canyon at the lower ranch which was formerly a lion’s den. Hiking in the nearby Nature Conservancy is also available.
Bring your own or use one of our mountain bikes on all ranch roads and trails.
We provide instruction on gun and rifle use if you would like to enjoy this aspect of Western life. This is a wonderful introduction to the safety of guns especially for young participants.
While Red Reflet has its own climbing wall, the immediate Ten Sleep Canyon area, offers world class climbing sites from challenging to moderately difficult. These are not guided by Red Reflet Ranch staff.
However, with advance notice we can endeavor to put our guests in contact with local guides. In the meantime, get unrivaled views of the Canyon from our Climbing Wall!
There is neither light nor air pollution at Red Reflet Ranch, so you can view the Milky Way and the various galaxies in their full glory using our Meade Telescope.
The natural "Cowboy Waterpark" is fed by an 3000' deep Artesian well, constantly refreshing the water in the ponds. Because it comes up from the ground at ~76 ºF, it is the perfect temperature for cooling off on a hot day. Amenities at the park include a sand beach, suspension bridge, giant rope swings, zip line into the water, paddle boards, kayaks, a water slide and canoe.
Fly like a bird on our private four-course Zip Line - a fast, exciting ride over ponds.
In the winter season, hiking trails, canyon trails and paths all around the ranch are filled with fresh powder snow, providing endless opportunities for downhill sledding and tobogganing.
Get rugged with our snowmobiles and ATVs as you drive through the snow covered canyons and hiking trails around the ranch.
Set in sand for Beach Volleyball, it is a fun pastime for families of all ages. Situated close to the ATV Barn, in-ground trampoline, and swing set for the younger ones.

Mealtime is always memorable at the Red Reflet Ranch, as in season, almost everything on the table has been grown or raised on the Ranch, then prepared by our resident executive chef, Clint Loftin, sous chef, Joel Wilkinson and pastry chef, Keeley Wonsowski. Produce can come from our greenhouse, garden and orchard. Beef is ranch raised and aged to be savory and tender. We also serve organic free-range chickens and eggs. The surrounding area has abundant elk, deer, antelope, pheasant, grouse and rabbit - meals often include wild game.
Breakfast is typically spent in your chalet. Each chalet is stocked with food and beverages prior to your arrival, making breakfast in bed a convenient possibility.
Depending on your daily activity schedule, lunches can take place in a variety of locations around the ranch.
One of our family traditions is to prepare the evening meal together and Red Reflet guests are invited to participate in this special time. Ranch dinners begin around 7:00pm in the lodge and are tailored to meet the guests’ desires and preferences. On most nights, you will dine with the owners and other guests, however, there are several other options available such as: dinner at the Mountain Cabin, barbeque dinners, and even private dinners in the chalet, based on availability.
A great deal of effort is taken to make every meal tasty, healthful, and unique. Every effort will be made to accommodate your special dietary allergies and needs using our heart-healthy approach to fine dining.
We have an extensive wine cellar, many beers, cold drinks and a well-stocked bar. There are no extra charges for this hospitality. (Underage guests are expected to comply with Wyoming Law.)
Road Kill Cantina - We try to have a weekly, full-staff BBQ at the Cantina (you’ll have to ask how the Cantina got it name) with a menu as close to what would have been served from an old- style, Chuck Wagon to Cowboys moving the herd across the range. Come hungry and prepared for lots of great western food. Expect some delectable surprises! Dress is usually Western casual, but since the Cantina is adjacent to the Cowboy Water Park, swim suits are also proper attire.
