Cody, WY (COD) Cody, Wyoming was founded in 1896 by the living legend, Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, who at the age of 41 was one of the most famous men in the world. Founded as a hospitality center, Cody truly is the “Wildwest way into Yellowstone” located just 50 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone National Park. A mere two hour drive to and from the Ranch, is very scenic, has a rodeo each night in the summer at 8pm, and has a wonderful, world class museum in Buffalo Bill Historic Center. Casper, WY (CPR) and Billings, MT (BIL) are 3 1/2 hours away via a scenic drive south (from Billings) or north (from Casper). Sheridan, WY (SHR) is a two hour drive from the Ranch, is very scenic drive across the Big Horn and through the Powder River Pass at 9,966' feet. Sheridan is known as Wyoming’s Jewel! It’s fabled western history and dramatic mountain vistas meet new west comfort and the serenity of wide-open spaces. Riverton, WY (WRI) a 2 1/2 hour drive is known as the rendezvous community of Wyoming. For centuries, people have chosen the Wind River Valley as a place to come together. It started with the Native Americans who felt it was a special place.
